ABOUT US
Affordable land based Agricultural Training Courses throughout Lincolnshire
The group has its origins when the Agricultural Training Board began. Things have changed a lot since then and several groups have amalgamated to form Lincoln Rural Training, based in Horncastle, Lincolnshire.
We train approximately 450 trainees each year. Our courses range from half day updates together with a variety of one-day courses suitable for Agricultural business’s, to 20 day BASIS Crop Protection awards.
We operate with a committee of farmers and a training organiser who co-ordinates the work required to organise the programme of courses each year.
Our Agriculture Training Courses cover the following categories:

Agricultural training course funding solutions
Feel free to ask for courses throughout the year, whenever needs arise. Funding is applied for when it becomes available to limit the impact of cost for participants.
We used to be able to obtain grants from the EU but unfortunately that no longer exists due to BREXIT. However we do try to source funding from every avenue and continue to monitor the availabilty of suitable training grants, although these are likely to be limited for the foreseeable future.
You are welcome to contact us to discuss your particular training requirements and staff development needs to find the best solution for you with regard to timing, location and costs.

Achieve your goals with Lincoln Rural Training
The Lincoln Rural Training group was formed by the amalgamation of the Metheringham, Billinghay, Brant District and Wragby training groups.
Our primary objective has always been to provide training for farmer members and their employees at an affordable level by sharing resources and training costs.
To achieve this goal we focus on the following:
- To recruit members from agricultural and rural industries within Lincolnshire.
- To satisfy the training requirements of its members and their employee’s.
- To provide a price competitive training programme using suitable and competent instructors.
- To seek to apply for any Government funding towards approved agricultural & rural Training. To then apply this funding by subsidising the appropriate courses.
